As any novice faces my first two plants I bought died :(
Well of course because plants don't like (only) central cooling! Lesson learned...sunlight and fresh air very essential! We lived in a very chic studio apartment in Dubai and I wanted a little life in the 'too proper' room. Tulsi (holy basil) gave up immediately and 'Christmas tree' (possibly Douglas fir , I didn't knew the names then) a little later!
Humble Beginnings
My next venture was full two years later in India, in Chandigarh. I started again under the scrutinizing eyes of my landlord (they were scared that their house will be damaged by us even moving inside the house!), I bought 8 pots, 8 trays
and 2 metal stands !
My landlord was queezy about the two standing on plastic trays on his marble floor!
Then on a trip I bought few small colorful ceramic pots and put pansies in it and put them on a 1.5 X 1.5 ft pillars at the end of the balcony.
Well that was the end of our term in that house as the landlord was very scared they will fall on his head!
The next house....well was a total turnaround and we were there till my husband's job brought us to Delhi. The Landlord was great and the terrace was awesome. I have loads of pics of that but will share in the next post!
